100 Mark Reichsbanknote; two red seals

The Reichsbank's 100 Mark series from this period was produced entirely in-house at the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin — one of the few state printing operations in Europe at the time capable of handling the full production cycle without contracting abroad. Paul Thumann was a prominent academic painter whose work here brought an unusually refined illustrative sensibility to what was otherwise a heavily intaglio-driven genre, while Hans Meyer's engraving translated that into the characteristic deep-bitten line work of German fiscal printing of the period.

The two red wax-effect seals are the quickest diagnostic for distinguishing this issue from related types in the series.
