A large intaglio-printed Imperial eagle with outstretched wings, crown, and shield breastplate in deep blue occupies the centre of the note, with a faint grey guilloche underprint of the numeral 100 visible above it. The denomination Ein Hundert Mark and additional numerals are overprinted in black and blue Fraktur script across the eagle vignette. Serial numbers are printed vertically in green ink along each lateral margin, with the Reichsbank seal bearing the Imperial eagle in green ink at upper and lower right. |

The 1908 Reichsbank 100 Mark series remained in continuous issue for over a decade, circulating well into the Weimar period before hyperinflation rendered it worthless by 1923. The green seal variant distinguishes it from the red-sealed 1898 predecessor — a deliberate administrative differentiation rather than a security revision.
Heavily circulated examples are the rule, not the exception. This was working money, handled daily in commerce across the German Empire and later the republic that replaced it.
