Obverse lettering KASSENSCHEIN der Stadt Coblenz Einhundert Mark AUSGEGEBEN MIT GENEHMIGUNG DES REICHSFINANZMINISTERS VOM 14. SEPTEMBER 1922 Der Oberbürgermeister
Reverse description The central vignette occupies most of the note's face and presents a half-length portrait of the scholar and publicist Joseph Görres in three-quarter profile to the left, rendered in a bold woodcut-inspired style after a portrait by Joseph Karl Stieler; Görres is shown holding a quill pen over an open book, with fine cross-hatched linework modelling the figure against a teal guilloche underprint. The same polychrome Art Deco diamond-and-chevron border panels that appear on the obverse frame the vignette on both sides. An inscription in the upper left gives Görres's name together with his birth and death dates, while the artist attribution 'nach E. Stieler' appears at the lower left and the printer's code 'WW 22' at the lower centre.
Reverse lettering JOSEPH GÖRRES * 25.1.1776 in Coblenz † 29.1.1848 in München nach E. Stieler WW 22
