Obverse description The obverse displays the papal coat of arms of Pope Paul VI, featuring the tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter above a shield charged with three fleurs-de-lis and three roundels, rendered in a bold, stylized relief. The papal insignia occupies the central field, with the tiara prominently positioned at the top of the composition. The circular legend reads PAVLVS VI P.M. to the left and AN. IVB. MCMLXXV to the right, giving the pontifical year in Roman numerals. The design is enclosed within a rope-pattern border running along the coin's rim. The overall artistic treatment is characteristic of mid-twentieth-century Vatican coinage, combining heraldic precision with decorative vigour.
