备注

The Istituto Centrale di Banche e Banchieri was Italy's interbank clearing institution, and this 100 Lire note belongs to a category that confuses collectors unfamiliar with Italian financial infrastructure — it is not a Banca d'Italia issue and never functioned as legal tender. These were internal settlement instruments used between member banks to facilitate interbank transactions, a private clearing mechanism operating parallel to the state monetary system.

Calcografia e Cartevalori, the Milan security printer behind this note, had deep roots in Italian banknote production under various names across the twentieth century. By 1977, 100 Lire had negligible purchasing power in Italy's inflation-ravaged economy — an odd denomination for an interbank instrument at that stage.
