| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse centres on a large ornate calligraphic 'B' vignette at left, flanked in intaglio by a reclining allegorical female figure at lower left and a standing male figure with scales at right, set against a fine guilloche underprint in ochre and gold tones. The bold letterpress legend 'CENTO LIRE' surmounts the clause 'PAGABILI A VISTA AL PORTATORE', below which two manuscript signatures appear for the Governatore and the Cassiere. At centre-bottom, a circular red vignette carries the head of Mercury (the 'testina'), serving as the watermark window, with the series letter and serial number repeated twice in flanking positions. |
