| Opmerkingen |
This note was designed and printed but never released into circulation — the Bulgarian National Bank shelved it as the country's political situation collapsed following the fall of Zhivkov in November 1989. The transition away from communist rule created enough institutional uncertainty that several planned issues were abandoned outright rather than released mid-reform.
Goznak had supplied banknote printing to Bulgaria throughout the Soviet period, and this was among the last notes produced under that arrangement before Bulgaria moved toward Western printers in the early 1990s.
