| Beschrijving voorzijde | The upper portion of Trajan's Column is depicted prominently in the foreground, with an architectural detail of the monument rendered in low relief in the background field. Romania's coat of arms appears to the left, with the national legend ROMANIA inscribed along the upper periphery. The face value 100 LEI and the year of issue 2013 are inscribed in the lower portion of the field. The overall composition blends sculptural relief with a historical architectural motif in a refined numismatic style. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Romania's National Bank has issued commemorative gold pieces tied to Trajan's Column several times, capitalizing on the monument's direct connection to Roman Dacia — the territory that gives modern Romania much of its founding mythology. The column, completed in 113 AD to mark Trajan's Dacian campaigns, remains in Rome, which has occasionally made Romanian claims to it a point of quiet diplomatic friction.
The .900 fineness places this outside standard bullion specifications, a deliberate choice the BNR has used across its commemorative program to signal collector rather than investment intent.
