备注

Romania's 1952 currency reform was a brutal instrument of economic control. The conversion rate applied to old lei varied depending on the holder — wage earners received a more favorable rate than those with savings, a deliberate policy designed to penalize accumulated private wealth and accelerate the destruction of the bourgeois class the new regime considered a political threat.

This note was issued under that reformed system. P#90 is common in circulated grades but surfaces far less often in higher condition, largely because Romania's postwar economy kept notes in active use until they were nearly illegible.
