| Obverse description | Central field bears the coat of arms of the Republic of Moldova, depicting a displayed eagle with a shield on its breast charged with the traditional Moldovan emblems including an aurochs head, star, rose, and crescent; the eagle holds an olive branch in its dexter talon and a sceptre in the sinister. The legend 'REPUBLICA' appears vertically to the left of the arms and 'MOLDOVA' vertically to the right, both in raised Latin characters.
