Reverse description The Romanian royal coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield supported by elaborate acanthus scroll mantling, surmounted by a large eagle displayed. The shield quarters incorporate the traditional heraldic devices of the Romanian provinces. The denomination 100 LEI arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by small lozenge stops, while ROMANIA curves along the lower periphery. The date is divided with 19 to the left and 39 to the right of the central device.
