Obverse description Central vignette at the base of a rocky outcrop presents an allegorical figure of Danubius, resting his right hand upon a vessel and holding in his left a shovel inscribed 'DONAU', flanked by pastoral group scenes representing agriculture, shepherding, beekeeping, tobacco cultivation, and fishing. A circular medallion at centre bears the coat of arms of Moldova surrounded by the legend 'BANKA NAȚIONALĂ A MOLDOVEI', while above the rock an angel of peace holds an olive branch in an overarching protective gesture. Cursive denomination inscriptions appear along both lateral edges; a line has been struck through the printer's imprint originally recorded beneath the rock.
