Obverse description The Moldovan state coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a displayed eagle bearing a shield charged with the traditional symbols of Moldova: an aurochs head, a star, a crescent, and a rose. The eagle holds an olive branch in its dexter talon and a sceptre in its sinister talon, with a cross above its head. An oak branch is depicted below the shield. The circular legend "REPUBLICA MOLDOVA" is inscribed around the periphery, divided by the eagle's wings, in raised Latin lettering.
