| Obverse description | Printed in blue on white paper, the obverse bears the bank title 'BANCA NATIONALE A ROMANIEI' in a central vignette at top, flanked by two allegorical putti figures at the upper left and right corners, with a spread eagle at the top centre. The large denomination text 'UNA SUTA LEI' is inscribed in bold letterpress across the centre, with the date '17 Fevruariu 1894' and a serial number below the bank title. Three signature lines for Guvernator, Director, and Casier Central appear in the lower central portion, with an anti-counterfeiting legal warning text in Romanian at the foot of the note. |

Pick 14 spans an unusually long print run — the basic plate design introduced in 1881 remained in use, with minor modifications, into the early twentieth century. The note was printed by the Imprimerie de la Banque de France, a relationship that gave early Romanian paper currency its distinctly French aesthetic and technical quality. Dujardin's engraving work for the Banque de France was among the finest intaglio production of the period, and the Romanian commission benefited directly from that workshop's standards.
The April 1945 print date in this catalog entry is almost certainly a cataloging artifact — Romanian 100 Lei notes of this design were not being printed in 1945. Verify against the note itself before relying on that date.
