| Opmerkingen |
Angola's 1984 100 Kwanza note arrived during a period of acute economic strain — the country was deep into civil war, and parallel exchange markets meant the official rate bore little relationship to real purchasing power. Thomas De La Rue printed the series in London, a recurring arrangement for Angolan currency that continued well past independence.
The watermark remains the sole security feature, which reflects both the cost constraints of the era and the limited counterfeiting infrastructure that existed inside Angola at the time. Notes from this issue circulated heavily and are frequently found with significant handling wear.
