| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Zambia in high relief at the center of the field. The shield, bearing a wavy pattern representing the Zambezi River, is supported by a man in casual dress to the left and a woman in traditional dress to the right. Above the shield, an African fish eagle with wings spread serves as the crest, while a pickaxe and hoe appear crossed behind it.
