Aanvullende informatie

Malawi's African Wildlife series occupied a peculiar niche in the early 2000s collector market — large-format silver issues struck at modest fineness, sold primarily through European distributors rather than through any domestic circulation channel. The .500 fineness on a 500g flan was a deliberate cost calculation, keeping silver content competitive with spot while maximizing the visual impact of the format.

The Reserve Bank of Malawi had no minting infrastructure of its own; these were produced under contract, almost certainly in Germany or Poland, where the tooling for oversized collector pieces was well established by that decade.
