Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Murad V, rendered in fine relief with intricate interlaced strokes characteristic of Ottoman imperial monograms. The tughra is flanked and framed below by a symmetrical wreath of laurel and olive branches tied at the base, with floral sprigs interspersed among the foliage. Above the tughra, a prominent crescent and star device occupies the uppermost field, itself surrounded by a ring of seven five-pointed stars arranged along the inner border. The coin is encircled by a finely beaded inner border, consistent with the milled coinage standards of the late Ottoman period.
