Obverse description Central field features the elaborate calligraphic tughra (imperial cipher) of Sultan Mehmed VI rendered in fine relief, surrounded by a continuous band of Arabic inscriptions in flowing thuluth script occupying the entire border. The legend encircles the tughra in multiple registers, with the regnal year and titles of the Sultan. The coin's border is defined by a fine beaded rim. The overall design follows the traditional Ottoman gold coinage convention with the tughra as the dominant obverse motif.
