| Obverse description | The elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Abdülaziz occupies the upper central field, rendered in high relief with characteristic flourishes and interlaced strokes. Below the tughra, the regnal year in Arabic numerals is inscribed flanked by decorative floral and foliate elements. An open wreath of olive branches frames the lower portion of the design, its stems tied at the base with a ribbon bow. A ring of seven six-pointed stars arches across the upper field surrounding the tughra. The entire design is enclosed within a fine beaded border. |
