Obverse description Printed in brown on cream paper, the obverse carries a large central text panel in Ottoman Turkish script arranged in horizontal lines within an ornate cartouche formed by interlacing floral and arabesque scroll borders. The imperial tughra of Sultan Abdülhamid II occupies an oval vignette at the top centre, flanked by the denomination numeral '100' repeated in the four corners within circular guilloche devices. Vertical bands of fine calligraphic script run along both lateral margins.
