Issued to commemorate the 1980 Helsingborg Exposition, a major Swedish industrial and cultural fair held in the city that summer. Sweden's commemorative crown series of this period was produced in relatively modest quantities compared to contemporary issues from neighboring Scandinavian mints, with collector demand absorbing most of the mintage before pieces ever reached general circulation.
