Two oval intaglio portrait medallions occupy the left and right mid-fields — a male figure in a feathered hat on the left, a laurel-wreathed female on the right — above a large pale rose-tinted guilloche underprint bearing the numeral "100". The bank name "SKÅNES ENSKILDA BANK" is inscribed in bold letterpress across the centre, with the denomination "ETT HUNDRA KRONOR" and the redemption clause "inlöser vid anfordran denna sedel med" printed above the place and date "Malmö 1876"; a SPECIMEN overprint and cancellation holes are present on this example. |

Skånes Enskilda Bank was one of Sweden's major provincial private banks, headquartered in Malmö and serving the commercially active Skåne region. The enskilda banks — private note-issuing institutions operating under charter — were a defining feature of Swedish banking from the 1830s until the Riksbank consolidated note-issuing authority in 1904, after which all private banknotes were gradually withdrawn.
Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. handled the printing, as they did for numerous Scandinavian private banks during this period. Their London operation was a preferred choice for institutions that wanted intaglio-quality security printing beyond what domestic Swedish printers could reliably supply at the time.
