Obverse description Yellow-brown intaglio print on a cream ground. A portrait vignette of physicist Hans Christian Ørsted occupies the left portion of the face, while a detailed vignette of a compass with electric wire appears at right, symbolising Ørsted's discovery of electromagnetism. Two manuscript signatures appear below the central text panel, flanked by guilloche underprint patterns.

Reverse description Printed in brown on cream paper, the reverse carries a large panoramic intaglio landscape vignette of Kronborg Castle at Helsingør, viewed from the shore across a wide foreground of beach and shallow water with timber posts. The denomination numeral 100 appears in ornate cartouches at upper right and lower left, with a further small numeral at lower right, all enclosed within a scalloped border of fine guilloche work.
