Obverse description Printed on buff paper within a dark blue guilloche border with repeated bands bearing the legends 'GEMEINDE WIEN' and 'HUNDERT KRONEN' on all four sides and the numeral '100' set in each corner, the obverse carries a small Viennese civic arms vignette at upper centre flanked by a series prefix and serial number. The title 'Kassenschein' is rendered in large ornate Fraktur letterpress, above a bold red underprint of repeated '100' numerals in the background. The issuing authority text, denomination 'HUNDERT KRONEN', a guaranty clause, the date 'Wien, am 1. November 1918', and three manuscript signatures with their respective titles are set in Gothic letterpress below.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in red and black on a plain buff ground, enclosed within a red guilloche border with circular '100' medallions at each corner and a central red ornamental rosette underprint in the middle field. Over this underprint, a dense block of Fraktur text sets out the legal basis for the issue, the total authorised amount of 30 million Kronen, the redemption terms, and the penalty clause for counterfeiting. The heading 'Kassenschein' and the sub-title 'der Stadtgemeinde Wien über hundert Kronen.' appear at the top in Gothic letterpress.
