KM#Pr8 designates this as a pattern strike, not a circulation issue — the "1st May" 100 Korun was prepared for the 1990 International Labour Day celebrations but never proceeded to general release. By that point, the political situation in Czechoslovakia had changed so rapidly following the Velvet Revolution of November 1989 that commemorative planning from the old regime was being abandoned or redesigned almost month by month.
The .500 fineness is characteristic of late Czechoslovak silver commemoratives, a composition the State Bank had standardized through the 1980s to reduce silver content costs.
