| Obverse description | The stylized logo of the Bank of Papua New Guinea is prominently displayed around the central circular perforation, depicting two confronted birds of paradise rendered in an abstract, interlocking design whose tail plumes curve symmetrically to form an oval device encircling the hole. A beaded inner border frames the central motif, while the legend PAPUA NEW GUINEA arcs along the lower periphery and the date 1976 appears at the right.
