| 背面描述 | The reverse features stylized portrait effigies of Ivan Fedorov, the pioneering East Slavic printer, and Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi, both depicted holding an opened book in a conventionalized Renaissance-influenced composition. The arc legend ОСТРОЗЬКА БІБЛІЯ (The Ostroh Bible) appears above the figures, while the date 1581, referencing the year of the Bible's publication, is inscribed in the lower field. The overall design evokes the historical and cultural significance of the Ostroh Bible as the first complete printed Bible in Church Slavonic. |

The Ostrog Bible of 1581 was the first complete printed edition of the Bible in Church Slavonic, produced at the press of Prince Konstantin Ostrozky in the town of Ostroh under the editorial direction of Ivan Fedorov. Its publication was a direct response to Catholic pressure on Orthodox communities in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and Ostrozky financed the project partly as a political act of confessional resistance. The text became a foundational reference for Orthodox Slavic scholarship for generations.
Ukraine issued this coin during a broader commemorative program celebrating milestones of Ukrainian cultural heritage. The Fedorov-edited text ran to 1,256 pages and survives in roughly 250 known complete copies worldwide.
