The reverse is set entirely in Gothic (Fraktur) typeface and carries a rhyming advertising motto at the top, followed by a full legal text in German identifying the issuing cooperative, its public-benefit purpose, and its agricultural activities. The text states that these non-interest-bearing Kassenscheine were issued in a total amount of K 14,400 and were redeemable in lawful currency between 16 and 31 October 1920. The note is signed in print by Nationalrat Direktor R. Weigl as chairman of the supervisory board, with the place and date 'Krems a.d.D., im Mai 1920' at lower left. A red 'EINGELÖST' (redeemed) cancel stamp is applied diagonally across the face. |
| Legenda del rovescio | Geflügel, Obst, Gemüs' und Fisch, Deckt Dir in unsern Reih'n den Tisch. Die Landwirtsch.-forstwirtsch. Produktiv-Genossenschaft in Krems a.d. Donau, r.G.m.b.H. ist ein gemeinnütziges, für jedermann zugängliches Unternehmen zur Hebung der heimischen Produktion. Sie übernimmt alle Eiergattungen in Lohnbrut für ihren Riesenbrüter, gibt ab Eintagsküken, züchtet Rasse- und Schlachtgeflügel, errichtet Schweinezuchtanstalten, Bienenstände, Fischzüchtereien, Gemüse- und Obstgärten und Baumschulen. Die Genossenschaft emittiert diese unverzinslichen Kassenscheine im Gesamtbetrage von K 14.400.- und haftet für vorstehende Verbindlichkeit mit ihrem ganzen beweglichen und unbeweglichen Vermögen. Diese Scheine werden bis 31. Oktober 1920 in Zahlung genommen und in der Zeit vom 16 bis 31. Oktober 1920 in gesetzlichem Bargeld eingelöst. Die Nachahmung wird bestraft. This note was issued by an agricultural and forestry cooperative in Krems an der Donau during the chaotic inflationary period that followed Austria's post-war economic collapse. Small cooperatives and municipalities across Austria issued their own emergency scrip — Notgeld — between roughly 1919 and 1922, largely because the central banking system could not keep low-denomination coinage and currency in adequate supply. A regional producers' cooperative issuing its own 100 Heller note is not remarkable in that context, but the attribution to designer E. Topuske is — cooperative Notgeld of this type rarely carried individual design credits at all.
