| Opmerkingen |
De Curaçaosche Bank was established in 1828, making it one of the oldest chartered banks in the Western Hemisphere still issuing notes in 1918. By that year, the disruptions of the First World War had severely constrained shipping and trade through the Dutch Caribbean, putting unusual pressure on local liquidity — the 100 Gulden denomination was a high-value instrument in that economy, rarely handled by ordinary residents.
Pick 7J is part of a dated series that ran across multiple years under the same basic authorization, distinguished by date and serial letter rather than any redesign. Survivors are uncommon; the bank's policy was systematic redemption and destruction of returned notes.
