Obverse description The national coat of arms of Suriname occupies the central field, supported on either side by two indigenous figures in traditional dress. The shield features a sailing ship and an ellipse device. The entire composition is encircled by a decorative wreath. The legend SURINAME JUSTITIA PIETAS FIDES arcs around the design within the wreath, referencing the national motto of Justice, Piety, and Faith.
