| Beschrijving voorzijde | The central vignette presents an intaglio portrait of President Henri Christophe (later King Henri I of Haiti), set within an elaborate framework of fine guilloche patterns and lathe-work borders. Denomination numerals and the issuer's inscription are arranged in the surrounding cartouche panels. The overall layout follows the classical engraved style associated with American Bank Note Company productions. |

| Opmerkingen |
The 1973 Haitian 100 Gourdes belongs to a series printed by the American Bank Note Company during a period when the Duvalier government — Jean-Claude having succeeded his father in 1971 — maintained tight control over the central bank and its output. ABNC had produced Haitian currency for decades by this point, and the relationship was uninterrupted through the political transition.
Pick 214 is not a scarce type, but examples showing heavy tropical wear are common, which reflects genuine hand-to-hand use rather than poor storage. Haiti's high denomination notes of this era circulated hard.
