| 背面描述 | The Albanian double-headed eagle displayed with wings spread and talons outstretched, surmounted by a crowned helmet, occupying the full field of the coin. The word 'PROVA' (meaning 'Trial') appears to the right of the helmet in the upper field. The denomination 'Fr.A 100' is inscribed at the lower left and lower right of the eagle respectively, with the date '1928' at bottom left and the Rome Mint mark 'R' at bottom right. A wreath border of laurel leaves frames the entire reverse, matching the obverse border. |

Albania's 1928 coinage program was rushed into existence the moment Ahmet Zogu declared himself King Zog I in September of that year, transforming the republic he had led since 1925 into a personal monarchy almost overnight. The 100 Franga Ari sat at the apex of a new decimal gold system engineered to signal legitimate sovereign statehood to a skeptical Europe. Italy's financial grip on Albania — formalized through the Tirana treaties — meant the actual striking was contracted to the Rome mint.
This is a prova, a trial or presentation strike produced in extremely limited numbers for official examination before authorizing full issue. Whether regular-issue 100 Franga Ari pieces ever entered meaningful circulation is doubtful; they functioned almost entirely as diplomatic gifts and reserve instruments from the outset.
