This note belongs to the series circulated across multiple territories simultaneously — the same printed note served different jurisdictions, distinguished primarily by overprint and sometimes by serial prefix, which creates genuine complexity for collectors trying to attribute examples to specific issuing locations.
The "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" overprint was applied to distinguish notes issued under direct French territorial authority rather than through associated states with their own monetary identity.
