| Beschrijving voorzijde | At left, a female figure in traditional dress; at centre, an intaglio portrait vignette of Governor Félix Éboué; at right, a vignette of men paddling a traditional canoe. Guilloche underprint frames the composition, with the bank title and bilingual denomination inscriptions — in French and English — across the upper register. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | An elder man in traditional beaded attire and wrapped headgear occupies the right foreground in intaglio, his portrait rendered in fine engraved detail. The central vignette presents a busy harbour scene with a large cargo vessel moored at the quayside, stevedores unloading goods, and a loaded lorry in the left foreground. Geometric African-motif borders frame the note on both vertical edges, and an anti-counterfeiting legal notice appears in a panel at lower centre. |

The Banque Centrale des États de l'Afrique Équatoriale et du Cameroun was itself a transitional institution — created to serve the newly independent francophone states of Central Africa while the CFA franc zone was being restructured after decolonization. This note's English denomination inscription is the detail that places it precisely within that transition: it reflects Cameroon's unique status as a former British-administered territory that had only just unified with French Cameroun in 1961, requiring bilingual accommodation on shared regional currency.
The series was short-lived, superseded when the issuing authority was reorganized into separate institutions for the BEAC zone.
