Obverse description Intaglio-printed note in black on white paper, headed 'BANQUE DE FRANCE.' and 'PARIS' with a manuscript date, centred on the bold letterpress denomination inscription 'cent francs.' A lower-centre oval vignette, engraved by Galle and signed 'GALLE F.', presents an allegorical group of two reclining female figures flanking a decorative urn, enclosed within elaborate guilloche borders and corner cartouches bearing small portrait medallions. Three signature lines for the Caissier Principal, the Contrôleur, and the Secrétaire Général appear at the foot, while a large calligraphic watermark is visible across the left margin.
