Reverse description A bold raised outline map of France, with internal departmental boundaries incised, dominates the central field. The map is surmounted by a laurel-and-olive wreath whose branches sweep down on either side to frame the composition. The denomination CENT FRANCS is inscribed on a curved ribbon or scroll at the lower portion of the wreath, the lettering rendered in a strong Art Deco block style. A beaded border runs around the entire periphery.
