Additional information

Niger's involvement in the miniature gold coin market accelerated sharply in the early 2010s, with the country lending its issuing authority to a wave of collector-targeted bullion pieces produced almost entirely for the European and Asian numismatic trade — the domestic population had no practical encounter with these coins. The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus series fits squarely in that commercial framework, part of a broader Seven Wonders run issued across several African nations simultaneously.

The original temple was destroyed by arson in 356 BC — reportedly the same night Alexander the Great was born.
