Obverse description Black and brown on multicolour underprint, with all legends in French. Upper left and right vignettes each present a quadriga in high allegorical style — Ceres on the left and Neptune with his trident on the right — each set above a symmetrical group of four female figures in classical composition. At centre, the Belgian lion rests in relief on a pedestal, beneath which the statutory warning text appears within an orange guilloche frame. Denomination, date, and signatures are printed in black; serial numbers are rendered in red.
