| Obverse description | Central field features the national arms of Rwanda: a quartered shield bearing symbolic devices including an agricultural hoe and crossed sorghum stalks, surmounted by a sun with a bird perched at its center, flanked by flag-draped supporters, with a scroll at the base. The denomination 100 FR appears above the arms. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE RWANDAISE arcs along the upper rim, while INDEPENDANCE · 1961 · 1965 · runs along the lower rim. Fineness mark ARGOR and the purity notation 900/1000 appear in the lower field to either side of the shield, with the motto LIBERTÉ-COOPÉRATION-PROGRÈS inscribed on the shield itself. |
