Reverse description The large numeral denomination 100 dominates the central field, rendered in bold relief with the numeral digits decorated internally with intricate geometric and dot patterns evoking traditional African decorative motifs. The word FRANCS appears in a straight legend beneath the numeral, and the date 1965 is inscribed above. The entire central device is enclosed within a decorative circular border featuring an elaborate rope-and-geometric pattern with four evenly spaced lug-like ornaments at the cardinal points, all set within the plain outer rim. This is the pattern (essai) type, struck without the ESSAI inscription.
