| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse depicts a frontal view of the Panthéon in Paris, rendered in fine relief against a plain field. The neoclassical façade of the monument is shown with architectural detail, including its colonnade and pediment. Arching above the design along the upper periphery is the patriotic dedication AUX GRANDS HOMMES LA PATRIE RECONNAISSANTE, while the circular legend RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE frames the entire design. The word ESSAI and the date 1982 also appear in the legend, identifying this piece as a trial strike. |
