Obverse description Multicolour intaglio and letterpress note with blue-grey tones for the principal text and value. At left, a portrait vignette of Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais, the 18th-century French navigator and colonial administrator; at right, two women rendered in traditional costume form a secondary vignette. A single manuscript signature appears below for the Managing Director (A. Postel-Vinay), with the SAINT-PIERRE-ET-MIQUELON overprint and serial numbering both applied in black.
