100 Francs Independence

Beschrijving voorzijde	The arms of the Republic of Senegal are displayed centrally: a quartered shield bearing a rampant lion to the left and a baobab tree above wavy lines to the right, encircled by an olive wreath. Three scroll banners beneath the shield bear the national motto 'UN PEUPLE - UNE FOI - UN BUT'. A five-pointed star appears at the apex of the design, surmounting the shield. The circular legend 'REPUBLIQUE DU SENEGAL' arcs around the upper periphery in bold Latin characters, while small five-pointed stars punctuate the lower field. A decorative rosette ornament appears at the base.

The commemorative legend 'INDEPENDANCE 4 AVRIL 1960' arcs around the lower periphery in Latin characters, recording the date of Senegal's independence on 4 April 1960.
