| Obverse description | The obverse is struck in the shape of a fire salamander and features a central circular cartouche bearing the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, surrounded by the legend REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO along the upper periphery and the denomination 100 FRANCS below, with the date 2025 inscribed within the cartouche. The field surrounding the cartouche is decorated with an engraved forest motif of stylised conifer trees rendered in low relief against a matte background. The inscription ½ G. 999 OR PUR appears in the upper portion of the field to the right of the cartouche, denoting the purity and weight of the gold. Small animal paw prints are scattered across the field, enhancing the naturalistic woodland theme. The entire design conforms to the silhouette of a salamander in walking pose with an upward-curling tail. |
