背面描述 Three detailed ears of maize (corn) with husks and stalks are depicted in high relief at the center of the field, arranged in a fan-like composition typical of FAO agricultural commemorative issues. The circular legend 'DEVELOPPONS LA PRODUCTION' surrounds the design along the upper and lateral periphery, separated by the notched inner border. The engraver's signature appears in small lettering at the base of the central motif. The overall design reflects the FAO's campaign to promote agricultural productivity.

附加信息

Issued under the FAO coin program, which ran from the late 1960s through the 1980s and recruited national mints worldwide to stamp agricultural themes onto circulating coinage as a form of development messaging. Mali's participation came during a period of acute food insecurity in the Sahel — the 1970s drought had devastated the region's harvest cycles and left the country heavily dependent on international aid. The coin's production was part of a broader FAO push to embed food security themes into everyday commerce across affected nations.
