| 正面描述 | The central field displays the large bold denomination numeral 100 with FRANCS inscribed below, all framed by four decorative arrow-like pointing devices at the cardinal positions. The circular legend BANQUE CENTRALE DU MALI runs along the upper periphery, while the date 1975 appears in the lower exergual area. The entire design is bordered by a continuous serrated or notched rim pattern, giving the coin a distinctive geometric appearance consistent with French West African coinage design of the period. |

Mali's post-independence monetary history is complicated. The original Malian franc, introduced in 1962 after withdrawal from the West African CFA franc zone, collapsed badly enough that Mali was forced to rejoin the CFA arrangement in 1984. This essai — a trial strike produced for the Banque Centrale du Mali — dates to the period when that independent currency was still being maintained, if not exactly thriving. Essais of this type were typically struck at the Paris Mint in very limited numbers, distributed to collectors and monetary authorities rather than released for circulation.
KM#E2 remains elusive in any secondary market appearance.
