100 Francs - Delacroix type (modified 1978)

The "Delacroix type" series ran for an unusually long stretch — from 1978 through to final withdrawal in 1997 — and accumulated an exceptional variety of signature combinations as a result. The 1993 printing is the one worth noting: an error in the typeset title "SECRETAIRE G.al" was caught mid-run, producing two distinct varieties from the same year. The misspelling omits the acute accent over the first E, a trivial-looking flaw that creates a genuinely collectable pairing when both are present.

Fontanarosa designed the note; Renaud handled the obverse engraving. Chamalières, the Banque de France's own production facility in the Auvergne, printed the entire run domestically throughout.
