Reverse description The reverse features a large Aztec funerary mask rendered in high relief at the right of the field, its stylized face displaying characteristic Mesoamerican stonework detailing. To the left, a figure of an Aztec warrior or deity is depicted in dynamic pose against a sunburst motif, evoking the iconography of Tenochtitlan, the ancient Aztec capital. The legend CENTRAL AMERICA arcs along the upper periphery, while TENOCHTITLAN and MEXICO are inscribed in two lines along the lower portion of the field. A small engraver's mint mark appears at the lower right of the field. The overall composition combines ancient Mesoamerican artistic tradition with modern numismatic craftsmanship.
