The "Ten Commandments" bullion series issued by the Republic of the Congo through a European licensing arrangement produced coins with nominal CFA franc face values that bear no relationship to any monetary reality in Brazzaville. The Congo's name appears on these pieces purely as a legal issuing fiction — the coins were designed, marketed, and distributed entirely for the Western collector and small-bullion market.
